BELLEVUE FIRE FOUNDATION TO DEDICATE NEW WILDLAND BRUSH TRUCK AT DOWNTOWN MOVIES IN THE PARK

(Bellevue, August 1, 2023)

The Bellevue Fire Foundation is thrilled to announce the successful funding and commissioning of the latest addition to Bellevue Fire Department’s fleet, a state-of-the-art wildland brush truck. In celebration of this remarkable achievement, the Bellevue Fire Foundation will be hosting a community event today, August 1, 2023, at Bellevue Downtown Park in conjunction with Movies in the Park.

“This achievement is a testimony to the strength of the Bellevue community,” said Laura McCloud Mathers, President and CEO of the Bellevue Fire Foundation. “Thanks to the community’s generosity, this new brush truck, equipped with the latest fire-fighting technologies, will enhance our city’s resilience against wildfires. We’re delighted to celebrate this milestone with our community in a fun and engaging manner.”

In addition to the unveiling of the new brush truck, the event will be packed with fun activities for all ages. Visitors can stop by the Bellevue Fire Foundation booth to enter a coloring contest, with the lucky winner receiving VIP seats to watch the featured movie of the evening, Hoodwinked.

Moreover, guests will have the opportunity to tour the new brush truck and meet with the dedicated firefighters who will be operating it. The new truck represents the city’s commitment to proactive wildfire prevention and response. It also symbolizes the power of community partnership and investment in local resources.

The Bellevue Fire Foundation thanks all its donors, including Amazon, Bruce McCaw Family Foundation, and many community members for their unwavering support, which made the acquisition of this crucial piece of firefighting equipment possible. We welcome everyone to join us for this eventful evening at Bellevue Downtown Park. “

Amazon shares a sense of community here in Bellevue and the responsibility to be good neighbors and stewards of this beautiful city,” said Keri Pravitz, Amazon’s head of community engagement for Bellevue. “It is an honor to be a part of this community endeavor to provide one more tool for our firefighters in saving lives and protecting our environment.”
